Born with a twist of fate,
Child of the streets, no place called home,
Livin' on the edge, assistance my crutch,
Special ed my school, my world, my groove,
Touched by harsh hands, battered and bruised,
Eighteen and carryin' the weight of the world,
Seen the darkness, witnessed death's dance,
Family tangled in the web of addiction,
PTSD, a shadow over my soul,
My child, a warrior, facin' a mighty storm.
Yet, against all odds,
I still make Great Art.
